Flying Pirates advertised this as ruins but even if it’s not as old, an old hideout for Manuel Noriega in the middle of the jungle is still pretty cool.

This winter, I traveled to Roatan, part of the Bay Islands off the coast of Honduras. In the spirit of Warner weather, I give you a photo from the place where I had one of the best meals of 2012, La Sierna.
The restaurant may not be much to look at, but you can beat the location on the East End of Roatan. And then there’s the food: the fish was the catch of the day, as in literally caught that day. Fresh salsa was a medley of fresh veggies served with homemade tortilla chips. A simple, healthy delicious meal served with the waves lapping below.
And if you time your trip right, you may even get to see the turtles, as the water around La Sierna serves as a turtle rescue sanctuary.
Take a break from the snow and think beach for a bit this afternoon.
